Meet Our Team

Alan Gross

Dr. Al Gross is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who over ten years ago developed an interest and expertise in bioidentical hormone replacement—in part due to his own experience with changes in our hormone levels as we age.

Born and raised in Juneau, Alaska, Al spent his youth hiking and panning for gold in the mountains around Gold Creek, just behind downtown Juneau. He went to Amherst College and then to medical school at the Univ. of Washington in Seattle. He is a father to 4 great kids, whom he helped raised in Juneau while working full time as an orthopedic surgeon throughout Southeast Alaska. He went on to became chief of the medical staff at Bartlett Regional Hospital.

When Al turned 50 he went back to school and got a public health master’s degree at UCLA. He then returned to Alaska and became an outspoken advocate to reform our national healthcare payment system to help lower the costs of healthcare. He quickly became an important figure in statewide politics, winning two out of three statewide federal elections as an Independent, and nearly winning Alaska's US Senate seat in 2020 and the congressional seat in the 2021 special election.

Al is a doctor who cares deeply about his patients—during his time practicing in Juneau, he won "best orthopedic surgeon" every year a reader's poll was conducted. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, has certification pending for Bio-identical Hormone Replacement, and is licensed as a physician in both Washington and Alaska.

Al is uniquely qualified to care for age related changes in your body. As an orthopedic surgeon, Al has firsthand knowledge and expertise on bone health and how hormones interact with our wellness as we age, as well as personally experiencing the positive impact of hormone replacement therapy in his own life.

Dr. Al is excited to help enrich your life, ensure your wellness and sexual health, and renew your vigor and self esteem in the best years of our life. Let this be a new exciting year for you.
